Lordship that Miss Mann,
whose appointment as Head Mistress
of
the
Hongkong Government Central School for Girls was notified in the letter from the Crown Agents of 7 January last, has tendered her resignation of her post from the 1st of September next, and that I have accepted the same.

I enclose copy of a letter from the Inspector of Schools, forwarding Miss Mann's resignation, dated 12th April, from which Your Lordship will observe that the cause of Miss Mann's action is purely of a private nature.

It is satisfactory to note that had she been willing to remain on at the School, there is every prospect that her appointment would have proved a good one.
